You can donate Animal
Resuscitation Equipment to your
Local Fire Department
Click above to view Rescue Video
 Here's How:

1.  Contact your local Fire Chief and ask if the
      department has animal resuscitation equipment.

2.  If not, ask if they would accept the equipment as
     a donation

3.  Most departments have oxygen tanks on their
trucks, ask if yours does.  They will need it to
     use with the masks.

4.  You can order Surgivet oxygen masks from

www.helpanimalsinc.org for $55.00 per set.
These masks give supplemental oxygen to
animals who have suffered smoke inhalation
but are still breathing on their own.

5.  If you also want equipment to resuscitate an
animal who has stopped breathing, you will have
to contact your veterinarian and see if he/she
will order a Revive-a-Pet Kit from
www.matrxmedical.com.   Matrx only sells
wholesale to veterinarians.  These kits include a
bag-valve device to provide  positive pressure
ventilation to an animal who cannot breathe on
its own.  The masks fit any animal from the
smallest kitten to a large Great Dane, and can
make the difference between life and death until
the animal can be brought to a veterinarian or
 emergency clinic.
The Revive-a-Pet Kit costs about $200.00.

6.  Print off a copy of
Canine CPR on this page to
bring to the Fire Department when you deliver
the equipment.  Note to them that the
Revive-a-Pet kit eliminates the need to do
rescue breathing.  If the department has an
Ambulance Service, the EMT's will already
know how to use this equipment as it is very
similar to the human equipment they already
     use.

7.  If you have any questions, please e-mail me at

mainelydanes@yahoo.com.  I have donated
this equipment to Fire Departments in 5 towns
in my area, and I can help you.

Can't afford to do it all yourself?

    Go to your local service
    organization like  the Rotary Club
or Lions Club and ask for
    donations.

Or you can start a fund to accept
    donations from local people.  Call
your local paper and see if they will
do a story about Pet Resuscitation.
